Bridge 02-0117. Rastanura, Saudi Arabia

The bridge is located on King Abdulaziz road, in the proximity of Rastanura. The bridge suffered from extensive corrosion, particularly in areas near expansion joints.

SILGA developed the method statement for the repair works, including the design of temporary towers. A general structural assessment was done to identify other sources of pathologies, like the excessive deformations of the main spans.

Eventually the intermediate half-joints were removed and the bridge made continuous. An analysis of the consequence of the change of the structural system was done to ensure its safety.

SILGA’s scope of work included the assistance during repair operations.
