The bridge over river Miño, in the province of Lugo, Spain, is designed as a three-span cast-in-place balanced cantilever box girder structure.
Main span is 165 m long. The single box cross section accommodates three lanes for each carriageway in a single deck, for a total of 26.60 meter width.
The design contemplates the execution of the central box girder in a first stage. The full width is achieved in a second stage by adding the side cantilevers with the help of precast ribs and slabs. Transverse prestressing guarantees the resistance of the 6.3 meter long cantilvers.
The scope of SILGA was the full detail design of the viaduct.
