Footbridges at Dilmunia Island. Bahrain
Two footbridges are designed spaning the mail canal of the newly developed Dilmunia Island, in Bahrain.
The developer and client, Ithmaar, was looking for designs with high aesthetical value, to match the high quality of the development.
The first footbridge, named “The Mall”, is designed as a simply supported presetressed concrete girder, with Through-type U section. The footbridge “Da Vinci” is designed as a reinforced concrete arch and aims at an interpretation of a bridge sketched by Leonardo Da Vinci.
